TBA December Christmas @ the Rosewood House - Rosewood House provides a transitional living environment for women who have had treatment and early success from recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction. We go to Rosewood for a Christmas Party. The residents make a wish list and members sign up to give a gift. We send Santa Claus with bags full of the gifts we donate and hands them out. This is a great evening, you get to share with the women and hear their stories and plans for their futures. Here's the Thank You letter from this year - The Christmas Party at the Rosewood House on December 16th was a big hit! Santa arrived with bags and bags of gifts for the women residents. What a treat it was to see how excited and how truly thankful they were for their gifts. Each woman received just about everything on their respective wish lists and then some, thanks to the generosity of all of our Benicia Soroptomists. It was an evening filled with fun, laughter, and incredibly touching moments. These are truly remarkable women who have overcome so many obstacles and are working very hard to get their lives back on track. Their positive attitudes and outlooks were just amazing.
Susie Foreman the Program Manager, presented us with a Certificate of Appreciation plaque "In recognition of [our] valuable contribution and continued support to Youth & Family Services". In addition, she presented Benicia Soroptomist Ann Buringrud a plaque for her ongoing donations of hair styling services for every resident upon her arrival at the Rosewood House.
